Nancy's bathtub which she breifly falls asleep in whilst naked and in which she is dragged down into a seemingly bottomless pool of water by Freddy was constructed over a tank built into the floor of the set with a cutout bathtub sealed down to it. Actress Heather Langenkamp ie Nancy spent around 12 hours in it during filming, accompanied at least some of the time by special effects man Jim Doyle who was wearing the Freddy glove can you believe someone was actually paid to spend 12 hours naked in a bath with Heather occassionaly grabbing some people have all the luck.
According to Robert Englund ie Freddy the sequence were Jonny Depps chracter was killed was shot by turning the entire room upside-down on a gyro set and sending the blood down through the bed. Heather Langenkamp and Robert Englund, in costume, were on hand to watch the filming. Disater nearly struck as the room was to be turned whilst the blood gushed out it was accidently turned in the wrong direction a door flew open and the fake blood rushed out onto exposed wires, creating a real hazard of elecrocution for the cast in particular Heather Langenkamp. Fortunately Englund pulled Langencamp away to safety saving her from a potentialy fatal accident quite contrary to the roles they play in the film.
