Although it went onto become an iconic movie the film Halloween was made on a very tight budget, budgetry constraints meant amongst other things that the prop department did not have the money to style an elaborate mask for their killer Michael Meyers as they would have liked to in the end they just had to modify the cheapest mask they could get from their local costume store which happened to be a Captain Kirk mask which they spray-painted white and reshaped the eye holes of.
