The dead oliphant ( giant war elephant like creature) carcass used in this film is reportedly the largest prop ever built for a film.
I assumed it must have been cgi when I saw it due to its massive size but apparently they actually built one see above a small picture of peter jackson sitting on the tusks of the oliphant prop.
