Psycho

*Psycho : The films iconic shower scene so scared one its audience that Alfred Hitchcock Psycho's director received an angry letter from the father of a girl who refused to have a bath after seeing Diaboliques, Les (1955) and now refused to shower after seeing this film. Hitchcock responded with characteristic wit by writing a letter back saying simply, "Send her to the dry cleaners."

A strange quirk of the mind and the masterfull nature in which the films score compliments the shocking savagery of Psychos brutal shower scene murder means that many people vividly remember seeing the red of Janet leigh's characters blood as it drains into the bath plughole, however this is impossible as the film was made in black and white and chocolate syrup was actually used to represent her blood as it showed up better.

Psycho is cited as the first American film ever to show a toilet flushing on screen. You never know when that information may prove invaluable.
